Our Cat Tamagotchi

Posted by Moneca Melnick on

I came home one day after my son Simon’s swimming lessons and found my fiancé Ryan on the floor with a feline looking up at me.

“Hi. That’s cute! When is it going home? I said

"This is his home. " Ryan replied.

I really wasn't sure what to think although I was so delighted to see a sweet little furball running up to me asking me to be scratched.

"What’s his name?" I asked

“Tamagotchi”

“Tamagotchi? We couldn’t find a different name!?

I then realized that he responds to the shaking of a Temptations bag so I was in the clear.

I got down to Tamagotchi's level and began to pet him. Instantly I had realized how freeing it was to be in the moment not in the past, or the future but right here in the present. It’s a feeling I had long forgotten as I hadn’t had a pet for years since my boxer Mackie died. She was the best pup ever and was so incredibly smart! I had forgotten about the joy and love pets bring into your life!
So I went on Facebook and decided to blog my first seven days with the feline. He followed me everywhere and was like my little shadow it was kind of comforting to have another creature in the dwelling.
Here’s how it went:

Simon was loving the cat. He would call him his “little brother.”😂  he’d walk around pretending to be jealous (or maybe he was) which ended up me smothering him in kisses, hugs and love always showing him she was #1 haha.

Simon began to manage so long as I gave him an over-the-counter antihistamine like Reactin or Claritin. These medications are great at relieving symptoms caused by allergens, but what if the allergen is not a temporary thing but now a member of the family?

What a way to live I thought, we brought in an allergen and an unnecessary obstacle that we now have to overcome. Not to mention I have to be careful when I walk not to step on it.

I told Simon to wash his hands and face after he pets or plays with the cat. This alone helped immensely. I decided to experiment and stop giving him the antihistamine to see if he would be ok without it. As long as Simon didn’t pet the cat too much then touched his face and washed his hands/face after every time he was ok. It was however, game over when he went in for kisses. After homeopathic medicine had worked for me in the past, I wanted to give it a go for Simon. It's 100% natural, and it has been proven be a reliable alternative to address allergy symptoms. It can also help to experience a long-term eradication of the allergy itself. So why not give it a go?

I thought to myself we should try homeopathic medicine because after all it is much easier on the liver and kidneys because its natural. We bought Allergex.

It's been one week and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed! 2-3 sprays 3 times a day and his symptoms are nearly non-existent. Needless to say I'm thrilled and I think we are all very happy to have kitty... I mean Tamagotchi stay as a part of our family!
